Olivewood Products

These beautiful ornaments and Nativities come from the wood of olive trees grown in Israel and are handcrafted in Bethlehem. They are made by Christian craftsmen who have been carving olivewood for four generations.

Every two years the trees are pruned so that they will continue to bear fruit. These beautiful pieces are made from these prunings.

Olivewood is a long living and durable hard wood. Infact, some of the trees growing in the Holy land were planted well before the birth of Christ. It is a tree that is rich in symbolism and history. When Noah was given a sign that land was near, it was an olive branch carried by a dove. When Christ made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the people waved palm and olive branches. According to tradition, it is believed that Christ prayed ender an olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane, just after the Last Supper prior to His crucifixion.

These beautiful pieces can be taken out each year in remembrance of the true Christmas story.
